1. The renewal application should be filed during the 6-month period prior to the expiry date. During the 6-month grace period after the expiration of the registration period, an application for renewal can still be made, but a late renewal fee must be paid. Failure to renew the registration within 6 months of expiry will result in the cancellation of the trade mark from the register. In this case, the request for restoration and renewal must be made within 6 months from the date of cancellation (i.e. within one year after the expiry date) and subject to payment of the restoration and renewal fee.
